Elagabalus, (A.D. 218-222), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 220-221, (2.71 g), obv. laureate bust of Elagabalus draped to right, around IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. around LIBERTAS AVG, Libertas standing to half left holding pileus and sceptre, star to right, (S.7523, BMC 221, RIC 107, RSC 92) (illustrated); another, issued 219, (3.05 g), rev. around FIDES EXERCITVS, Fides seated to left, holding eagle and standard, another standard before her, (S.7487, BMC 106, RIC 67, RSC 28); another, (3.07 g), rev. around ABVNDANTIA AVG, Abundantia standing to left emptying cornucopiae held with both hands, star to left, (S.7501, RIC 56, RSC 1a); another, (3.22 g), rev. around INVICTVS SACERDOS AVG, Elagabalus in priestly robes standing left, sacrificing over altar, behind which is sacred bull and holding branch, star in left field, (S.7518, RIC 88, RSC 62). Toning, very fine - good very fine or better. (4)
