Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 196, (2.97 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around L SEP SEV PERT AVG IMP VII, rev. around ARAB ADIAB COS II P P, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and trophy, (cf.S.6265, RIC 64, RSC 50); another, Emesa Mint, issued A.D. 194-5, (3.55 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around IMP CAE L SEP SEV [PERT AVG] COS II, rev. around INVICTO AVG, trophy with captured arms below, (S.6288, RIC 389, RSC 232). Lightly toned, very fine. (2)
