Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Laodicea Mint, issued A.D. 197, (3.59 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VIII, rev. around PROFEC TIO AVG, Severus on horseback right holding spear, (cf.S.6256, RIC 494, RSC 580). Slightly granular surfaces, extremely fine.
