Commodus, (A.D. 177-192), AE sestertius, (20.39 g), issued 180, obv. M COMMODVS ANT[ONINVS AVG], laureate head of Commodus to right, rev. around traces of TR P V IMP IIII COS II P P], S C across flan, in exergue traces of LIBERALITAS AVG, Commodus standing left on platform with two attendants dispensing largess to citizen mounting steps, (S.5765, BMC 377-380, C.305, RIC 300). Brown patina, surface pitting, nearly fine and very rare.
