Antoninus Pius, (A.D. 138-161), AE sestertius, (29.37 g), Rome Mint, issued A.D. 141-143, obv. laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right, around ANTONINVS AVG PI VS P P TR P COS III, rev. Salus standing to left, holding sceptre and feeding a snake arising from altar, around SALVS AVG, S C across field, (S.4214, RIC 635, C.711, Banti 340). Lightly toned, minor surface pitting, very fine and scarce.
