Augustus as Octavian, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver quinarius, uncertain Italian mint (probably Brundusium, possibly Rome), issued 29-27 B.C. (1.86 g), obv. Octavian bare head to right around CAESAR [IMP VII], all within linear circle, rev. ASIA RECEPTA around, Victory draped standing to left, right hand holding wreath and left hand a palm, all on cista mystica between two snakes, (S.1568, RIC 276, RSC 14, BMC 647). Attractively toned, very fine and scarce.
