Attica, Athens (c.440 BC), silver tetradrachm, (17.15 g), obv. head of Athena facing right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette, rev. standing owl, head facing, olive spray and crescent moon to left, AOE to right, all within incuse square (S.2526, SNG Cop 31, Kroll 8, HGC 4 1597). Lightly toned, well centred, good very fine and showing much of the crest.
