Thessaly, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver stater or double victoriatus, (6.26 g), Poli- magistrate, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, monogram behind, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSA LWN*, across field **P*O LI, (cf.S.2232, BCD Thessaly I 1370 (same obv. die), BCD Thessaly II 813, HGC 4, 208). Very light marks on reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine.
