Macedon, Kingdom of, Antigonos II Gonatas, silver tetradrachm, 277/6-239 BC, (16.84 g), Amphipolis Mint, issued c.274/1-260/55 B.C., obv. Pan's head to left, with pedum on shoulder, all within Macedonian shield, rev. Athena Alkidemos advancing to left, with thunderbolt and shield, Macedonian helmet in field to left, K monogram to right, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **ANTIGONOU*, (cf.S.6783, Panagopoulou Period I, Group 23, 83 (O17/R80), HGC 3.1, 1042, ANS inv. 1944.100.13842 [same dies]). Lightly toned, some horn silver, very fine and very rare.
