Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.06 g), Kassander as regent, uncertain mint in Greece or Macedon, issued c.325-310 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, grape bunch to left, A below throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price PO(1), 210 = A. F. von Prokesh-Osten, "Liste des Alexandres de ma collection qui ne se trouvent pas dans le catalogue de Mr. L. Muller" in NZ 1 (1869), 210). Toned, good very fine and extremely rare.
