Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.03 g), Susa Mint, under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, as Strategos of Asia, struck under Aspesias, satrap of Susiana, issued c.316-311 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, wreath to left, to right **ALEXANDROU*, AI monogram above throne strut, **PR* below, **BASILEWS* in exergue (cf.S.6730, Price 3857). Struck in high relief, light mark on cheek, nearly extremely fine and rare in this condition.
