Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.33 g), Sardes Mint, issued c.323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, torch to left, to right **ALEXANDR[OU]*, A under throne, (cf.S.6730, Price 2637, BMC 2637a-c, M.31, SNG Cop.878). Lightly toned, struck on a compact flan, good very fine - nearly extremely fine.
