Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.28 g), Sardes Mint, struck under Menander, issued 324-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram in left field, **ALEXANDROU* to right, club downward to outer right, (cf.S.6730, Price 2550, AMD I Series IX). Extremely fine with mint bloom.
