Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.30 g), Sardes Mint, struck under Menander, issued 324-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with plain border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **ALEXANDROU* to right, club to outer right, (cf.S.6730, Price 2561, ADM I Series X). Extremely fine with underlying mint bloom.
