Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.16 g), Salamis Mint, issued 332/1-323 B.C. under Nikokreon, obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left a bow, **[A]LEXANDR[OU]* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3139, Zapiti & Michaelidou 5-6, Newell, Some 7). Lightly toned, compact flan, good very fine and scarce.
