Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver^drachm, (4.31 g), Miletos Mint, issued under Demetrios I Poliorketes, struck c.295-4 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on^throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram in left field, labrys below throne, **ALEXANDROU* to right,^(cf.S.6730, Newell 49, Price 2148). Struck slightly off centre, good very fine with underlying mint bloom.
