Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver^drachm, (4.24 g), Miletos Mint, issued under Philoxenos, struck c.325-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on^throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram in^left field, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price 2090, ADM I Series I, 103 [same obv. die]). Lightly toned, nearly extremely fine.
