Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.25 g), Lampsakos Mint, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, As Strategos of Asia, issued 320-306/5 B.C., or king, 306/5-301 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, forepart of Pegasos in left field, below throne AI, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price 1385, ADM II Series XVIII). Lightly toned, well centred, good very fine.
