Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.33 g), Corinth Mint, issued under Demetrios I Poliorketes, c.304/3 290 B.C., obv. head of^Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched^hand, **OLY* under throne, to left outer field, Athena^standing to left with shield and spear, to right **ALEXANDROU*, in exergue **BASILEWS*, (cf.S.6713, Price 695, Noe, Sicyon 38 var. A77/P- [obv. die not listed for issue, rev. die unlisted, HGC 3.1, - ). Lightly toned with underlying lustre, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
