Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.28 g), Amphipolis Mint, struck under Antipater, issued c.325-323/2 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, arrow in left field, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6730, Price 50, Troxell, Studies, Issue F). Lightly toned, good very fine with underlying mint bloom, rare.
