Macedon, Kingdom of Phillip II, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.31 g), Amphipolis Mint, in the name and types of Philip II, issued c.336-333/26 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, rev. naked youth on horseback to right, holding a palm and rein, bee below horse's belly, janiform head below raised foreleg, above **FILIP POU*, (cf.S.6683, Le Rider 450 (D225/R401), SNG ANS 549-55). Lightly toned, nearly very fine and rare.
