Thrace, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.96 g), Silandus Mint, issued first half of the 3rd century B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, rev. Athena Nikephoros enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear over shoulder, **EPK* monograms in inner left, and **S I* in exergue, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMACOU*, (cf.S.6814, Thompson -, Nomos Auction 14, 17 May 2017 (lot 86, same dies), M.454, cf.HGC 3, 1750). Bright, struck on a broad flan, extremely fine and very rare.
Ex Anthony (Tony) Taylor Collection.^Noble Numismatics Sale 127, lot 4139. Previously Ponterio & Associates, Sale 123, November 14, 2002 (lot 554).^No examples in the Meydancikkale Hoard but a similar example in the Armenak Hoard No.919 (p.86).
