Sicily, Syracuse, Philistis, wife of Hieron II, (275-215 B.C.), silver 16 Litrai or tetradrachm, 26mm, (13.01 g), struck c.218/7-214 B.C., obv. Diademed and veiled bust left of Philistis, star behind, rev. Nike driving slow quadriga to right, star above, nothing to right, above and in exergue **[BASIL]ISSAS FILISTIDOS*, (S.988, CCO 115, cf. SNG ANS 880-1, SNG Cop. 825). Extremely fine, bright surfaces and very rare.
