Sicily, Gela, (c.480/475-475/470 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.29 g), Jenknins Group II, obv. slow quadriga driven left by male charioteer holding reins, Nike flying to right crowning horses, dotted border, rev. forepart of man headed bull to right with long beard, around legend **G E L AS*, (cf.S.785, Jenkins Gela, Group II, 108 (O33/R62), HGC 2, 338, Rogers Collection (R. Ratto, 24 June 1929), lot 93 [same dies]). Lightly toned, good very fine or better and rare.
