Italy, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), silver nomos, (c.280 B.C.), (7.86 g), obv. naked horseman on horseback prancing to left, holding small shield behind him, to right **SI*, below horse **FILOKLHS*, rev. Taras to left, riding on dolphin's back with arm extended holding out wreath, below dolphin **LU*, ethnic to right **[TA]RAS*, **L*Y below, (cf.S.363, Vlasto 688-90, HN Italy 965). Toned, some light scratches, struck from good metal, very fine and scarce.
