Italy, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (c.280 B.C.), silver nomos, (7.68 g), obv. naked horseman dismounting left, holding shield, E[Y] behind, [NIKWN] below, rev. Phalanthos astride dolphin left, holding grain ear [A]**P*I to left, spearhead below, (cf.S.337, Vlasto 703, HN Italy 969). Attractively toned, good very fine, scarce.
