Lucius Verus, (A.D. 161-169), gold aureus, Rome Mint, (7.21 g), issued A.D. 165, obv. laureate cuirassed bust to right, around L VERVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, rev. Lucius Verus galloping to right, thrusting spear at fallen Partian warrior, around TR P V IMP III COS II, (cf.S.5340, RIC 545, Calico 2185). Well struck, good very fine - nearly extremely fine with traces of mint bloom, a rare type.
