Vitellius, (A.D. 69), gold aureus, Tarraco Mint, issued January - May 69, (7.32 g), obv. A VITELLIVS IMP GERMANICVS, laureate head to left, rev. Libertas, draped, standing right, holding pileus in right hand and vindicta (liberation rod) in left, around LIBERTAS RESTITVTA, (S.2177 [this coin], RIC 9, Calico 564 [this coin], BMCRE 88, Biaggi 280 [this coin]). A few light scratches, banker's mark on reverse, otherwise very fine or better and very rare.
