Macedon, Kingdom of, Philip III Arrhidaios, (323-317 B.C.), gold stater, Abydos Mint, (8.53 g), struck under Leonnatos, Arrhidaios, or Antigonos I Monophthalmos, obv. head of Athena to right in crested Corinthian helmet, ornamented with a serpent, rev. Nike standing to left, holding wreath in outstretched hand and stylis, cornucopia in left field, to right **FILIPPOU*, (cf.S.6746, Price P28, SNG Berry 151-2, ADM II Series X.). Some mint bloom, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
