Macedon, Kingdom of, Philip III Arrhidaios, (323-317 B.C.), gold stater, (8.57 g), Sardes Mint, issued under Menander or Kleitos, c.322-319/8 B.C., obv. head of Athena to right in crested Corinthian helmet, hair flowing and snake on helmet, rev. Nike standing to left, holding wreath in outstretched hand, in left field bee above TI, to right **ALEXAND[POU]*, (cf.S.6702, Price 2523, ADM I Series XIV). Double struck on reverse, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
