Thrace, Byzantion, (mid-late 1st century B.C.), gold stater, (8.13 g), in the name and types of Lysimachos, obv. diademed head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon, rev. Athena Nikephoros enthroned to left, holding Nike and resting left arm on shield, transverse spear in background, monogram to inner left above arm, BY below throne, ornate trident in exergue, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMACOU*, **SI*, (S.-, cf.HGC 3 1383). A few surface marks, good very fine and a very rare late issue.
