Trio to WIA: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. First medal is an unnamed copy, 1722 Pte J.M. Codyre. 3/Bn. A.I.F. on second medal and 1722 Pte. J.M. Codyre 3 Bn. A.I.F. on last medal. The named medals impressed. The last two medals with damaged ribbons, otherwise the trio is fine - extremely fine.
Together with colour patch for 3 Battalion with modern metal A attached.
Joseph Michall Codyre, tailor, age 25, born at Westport, NZ; Enl.05Jan1915 at Liverpool, NSW; Emb.17Mar1915 with 4Rfts to 3Bn; served at Gallipoli and evacuated to Mudros with septic knee 24Aug1915; rejoined unit 25Oct1915; trf to 55Bn 13Feb1916; rejoined 3Bn 20Feb1916 and to France; WIA 24Jun1916 GSW both feet at Pozieres; applied to trf to AASC but due to damaged feet was Disch.06Dec1917 Medically Unfit.
