Queensland I.B. on first medal, 73584 Pte J.Blandford, 28/Can:Inf: on second medal, 73584 Pte. J.Blandford. 28 - Can.Inf. on third medal, (fill in medal) 25868 Pte. W.Green. Lan.Fus. on fourth medal and 73584 Pte. J.Blandford on last medal. The first four medals are impressed, the last medal engraved. Contact marks on first medal, otherwise very fine - extremely fine.

Joseph Blandford, born 04Oct1881 in Brighton, Sussex, England; Enl. in 6 Queensland Imperial Bushmen; Emb.04Apr1901; arrived Cape Town 02May1901; posted to Lt-Col Grey's Column and commenced patrolling Transvaal and Orange Free State with multiple skirmishes, raids and engagements; RTA 17May1902; unit disbanded 23Jun1902; WWI: Enl. in 28 Canadian Infy Bn; to France 16Sep1915; WIA 09Oct1916 at Vimy Ridge, GSW neck and crushed; to 14 General Hospital dangerously ill and died 22Oct1916; Buried Wimereux Communal Cemetery; Memorial Cross sent to his mother in Sussex, England.
