Allan; Anzac Commemorative Badge 1915, issued 1967, reverse inscribed, 13/7; Aldershot Command Athletic Association Group Competitions medal, Tug.Of.War Winning Team, June 1918, To No.10 Group, named to E.G.Allan (illus). Two medals and one badge, very fine - extremely fine. (3)

Ernest Gordon Allen, fitter, born 23Dec1888 in Adelaide, Sth Aust; (all medals wrongly named to E.G.Allan in spite of his widow's complaints); Enl.04Sep1914 at Blackboy Hill, WA in 11 Infy Bn; Emb.31Oct1914 with 4 Rfts 11Bn; trained in Egypt and to Anzac Cove 04Jun1915; to 1CCS on Anzac 18Jul1915 with diarrhoea; to France 09Mar1916 and rejoined unit 23Jun1916; evacuated from Calais to England 27Jul1916 with influenza and debility; classified as B2 and taken on strength of Permanent Establishment 25Oct1916; allocated to No 1 and then No 2 Command Depots; after a bout of boils reclassified as A3; trf to Anzac Provost Corps at Tidworth 31Aug1917; RTA 03Dec1918 as Submarine Guard; Disch.25Mar1919; Died 06Jul1967 and buried at Kirrabatta, WA.
