Private William George Strong, 1st Queensland Mounted Infantry; Emb.01Nov1899; Disemb.13Dec1899 at Cape Town; served in B Sqn with first action at Sunnyside and then major actions at Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg and Driefontein as well as multiple minor engagements; Invalided to Australia with enteric fever, arriving 01Sep1900; Disch.08Sep1900; was a Queensland member of the Australian Contingent to England for the Coronation of King Edward VII and entitled to the King Edward VII Coronation Medal.
