Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochus I, (280-261 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.99 g), Tarsos, issued from 274 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus I to right, rev. Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding two arrows one in each hand and a grounded bow, on right **BASILEWS*, to left **ANTIOCOU*, in extreme left field **D*PK monogramn, H*G* monogram in exergue, (cf.S.6866, cf.SC 331.1, also SC [Part II], Pl. 99, Ad98 [This Coin Illustrated, before conservation] also described p.644, Ad98 as from Commerce ("Seleucus III" hoard) 2003; cf.Newell WSM 1295-1296, SNG Israel I (Spaer) -, BMC -, HGC 9, 128d). High relief, bright, some porosity, otherwise good very fine/very fine and unique.

Ex Freeman & Sear, Mail BId Sale 15, June 27, 2008, (lot 151), originally from the "Seleucid III Hoard" c.2003. ^This example is the only reported example and is illustrated in SC part 2 on plate 99 in SC as Ad90 (in Addenda and Corrigenda). The coin has been cleaned and had hoard oxidation in the original ploto in SC.
