Syria, Kingdom of, Seleukos I Nikator, (312-281 B.C.), silver hemidrachm, (2.01 g), Susa Mint, struck c.305/4-295 B.C., obv. Head of hero (Alexander or Seleukos as Dionysus) right, in helmet covered with panther skin and adorned with bull's ear and horns, rev. Nike standing right, crowning trophy, radiate head of Sol below trophy, to left **SELE[UKOU]*, to right **BASILEW[S]*, (cf.S.6833 tetradrachm. SC 175 (Helios), cf.Newell ESM 419). Attractively toned, some edge chips, good very fine and excessively rare.
