Constantine IX, (A.D. 1042-1055), gold histamenon nomisma, Constantinople mint, (4.25 grams), obv. bust of Christ facing bearded, with cross nimbus crescent in upper corners, raising right hand, in left hand the Gospels, around IhS XIS RCX RCSNLNTIhM, double dotted border, rev. +CWNST ANT bASILEySRM, around bust of Constantine facing, bearded wearing crown and loros, holding labarum with dot on shaft and globe with cross of four dots, (S.1830, D.O.3). Nearly extremely fine and scarce.
