Ngatapa Sports Club, prize medal in gold (9ct; 4.87g; 25x25mm), by W.Good, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed, 'N.S.C', reverse inscribed, 'Pres by/J.McLoughlin./Most Points/Highland Dancing/(Under 12)/Phyllis McGhie/2.1.28'. Very fine.

The Ngatapa Sports Club and the Caledonian Society together with a large crowd gathered at the Patutahi Domain where the fifth annual meeting was held on 2 January 1928. Phyllis McGhie won the Sean Truibhais under 12; 2nd in the Sword Dance under 12; won the Highland Fling under 12; 2nd in the Irish Jig under 12; won the Hornpipe under 12; thus scoring the most points in Highland Dancing events. Patutahi is a small settlement near Gisborne in New Zealand's North Island.
