Sydney Insurance Cos, cycling prize fob in voided gold (9ct; 6.58g; 21x23mm), by W.Kerr, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed, 'One Mile/Championship./Sydney/Insurance Cos/Won by/A.A.Doudney./3/4/97'. Toned very fine.
This race was held at the fifth annual picnic of the insurance companies and agencies carrying on business in Sydney. It was held at Clifton Gardens, Mosman, a suburb on the shores of Sydney Harbour on the Saturday afternoon of 3 April 1897.
