Sheffield Shield Trophy 1892, prize medal in gold (15ct; 9.51g; 28x31mm), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed, '1908-9/1910-11/1911-12/won by/N.S.W/E.L.Waddy/Season/1906-7'; another fob in voided gold (9ct; 3.58g; 27x31mm), ring top suspension, obverse inscribed, 'ELW', reverse inscribed, 'N.W.H.H.A/1909-10/E.L.Waddy.'. Very fine; good very fine. (2)

Edgar Lloyd Waddy (1879-1963) was presented with the Sheffield Shield Trophy prize medal when NSW won the competition beating teams from South Australia and Victoria in 1906-7. He also was on the NSW team that won the shield in 1897. Waddy went on to play in the teams of 1908-9, 1910-11 and 1911-12 and captained NSW in 1912-13 and 1913-14. He also represented Australia against New Zealand in 1914. His first class cricket career began in 1896 and ended in 1921. Edgar Waddy started a real estate business in Rose Bay, Sydney with his brother, Rev. E.F.Waddy who also played for NSW and captained the side in 1910-11.
