Laura Bay Athletic Club, prize medal in gold (9ct; 5.88g; 28mm), scroll top suspender, obverse inscribed, 'Laura Bay/Athletic Club./1914.', reverse inscribed, 'Members Race/Won by/John McArthur'. A few small edge nicks, otherwise good very fine.
Held on New Year's Day at Laura Bay beach, this was the fourth annual gathering of the local sports club. Laura Bay is on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia and overlooks the Great Australian Bight.
