Egypt, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I, Soter, (305-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, Alexandria Mint, struck 287-286 B.C. (Davesne & Le Rider chronology based on Meydancikkale Hoard), (12.61 g), obv. head of Ptolemy to right with aegis, rev. eagle to left on thunderbolt with closed wings, to left A, around **[PTOLEMAIOU] BASILEWS*, (cf.S.7761, Sv.247, SNG Cop.-). Has been cleaned, traces of chloride deposits, very fine with a good portrait.
