Caria, Satraps of, Maussollos, (377-353 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.55 g), Halikarnassos Mint, obv. three-quarter facing head of Apollo wearing laurel wreath, head turned slightly right, rev. Zeus Labraundos standing right, holding double axe (labrys) and sceptre, wreath to left, name **MAUSSWLL[O]* to right, (cf.S.4956, SNG Fitzwilliam 4745, SNG Helsinki 276, SNG Von Aulock 2365, SNG Cop, 592, SNG Tubingen 3330, Weber 6603 var, BMC 14). Toned, good very fine with an attractive portrait, very rare.
