Macedon, Kings of Macedon, Demetrios I Poliorketes, (306-283 B.C.), silver drachm, uncertain mint in Euboia, (struck c.290-289/8 B.C.), (3.99 g), obv. diademed and horned head of Demetrios I right, rev. **BASILEWS* to right, **DHMHTRIOU* to left, Poseidon Pelagaios, nude, standing left, foot propped on rock, holding trident and resting arm on leg; in outer left field, monogram, (S.6767, Newell 154 pl XVI 9, Weber 1257, cf. SNG Alpha Bank 953 (tetradrachm)). Lightly toned, surface pitting, nearly very fine and extremely rare.
