Thrace, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.22 g), Magnesia on the Meander Mint, issued 297/6-282/1 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, (eye looking forwards) with diadem and horn of Ammon, within dotted circle, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, shield at side with lion's head, race torch with fillets in outer left field, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMAXOU*, meander pattern in exergue, (cf.S.6814, Thompson 110, cf.Muller 444, HGC 3.2 1750e). Attractively toned, light die wear and mild porosity, good very fine and a rare variety.
