Ionia, Phokaia, (c.400-330 B.C.), electrum hekte or sixth stater, (c.335 B.C.), (2.54 g), obv. head of Omphale to left in lion skin, club at shoulder and seal below, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (cf.S.4533, Bodenstedt 107, SNG Cop. 1029, Boston 1917, BMC 55, Traite 2,11,2123). Good very fine, very rare.

This coin alludes to the story of Omphale, Queen of Maeonia, who emancipated Herakles and became his mistress.
