NEW ZEALAND MEDAL 1869, reverse dated 1864. 2715. C. Hunter. 40th Regt. Impressed. Edge nick and contact marks, otherwise fine.

2715 Charles Hunter has been traced as a member of 4th Battalion Military Train which unit left Ireland and sailed from Woolwich on 7 November 1863 and arrived in New Zealand on 21 February 1864. The Military Train rotated its soldiers through the deployed troops. It appears that Charles Hunter transferred to 40th Regiment.
