Description

Vespasian, (A.D. 69-79), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issue of A.D. 77-78, (25.16 grams), obv. IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M TR P P P COS VIII, laureate head to right, rev. Jewess sits to right below palm, behind emperor in military uniform, with spear etc. S C in exergue, around IVDAEA [CAPTA], (cf.S.786, RIC -, BMC 826, C.-, cf.H.775). Weak in parts of thr obverse and reverse legend, an uneven surface, otherwise very fine with a good very fine portrait, extremely rare.
