Vespasian, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 69-79, obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right IMP CAESAR [VESPASIAN]VS AVG around, rev. IVDAEA in exergue with Judaea seated to right at foot of trophy, hands bound behind, (cf.S.777, RIC 16, C.229). Nearly fine and rare.
Another issue commemorating the victory by the Romans over the Jews in the First Revolt.
